A 13-Year-Old Listener writes in with pictures of her Nina Kimberly costume!
Dear Ms. Ellis;
I'm glad that you like the pictures that I sent you of me in a costume of Nina. Show it to her, Kimberly and Tyrnon and ask them what they think! As for the reason I was wearing the costume, at my school in my homeroom we were having a costume contest and at first I was going to be Aphrodite, goddess of love. Then my sister was helping me with the outfit and turned the sheet around like a cloak and that's when I thought DUuhhh!!! NINA KIMBERLY THE MERCILESS!!! And once I tohught that I completely dropped the idea of Aphrodite because no one could compare to Nina! And just so you, Nina, Kimberly, and Tyrnon know... I WON 1st place!!! I told my class about how Nina's father died, how Francis is always trying to... you know, about how she met Tyrnon and William and about the advisors wanting to destroy the delicate balance between the Langians and the Uks.
If you look closely at the picture you will see the dagger, just after she used it to stab Tyrnon, the shirt she was forced to wear after her good one got ripped, a pouch to put her gold coins even though I only had copper and silver, and a pendant. Now the pendand isn't quite like Nina's but I have an explanation for that. First off, I couldn't find a tear-shaped necklace. Also, when I listened to that part of the story again when she said the incantation I thought that the cross would fit. She said all of these things about the north south east and west and since the cross goes up down and side to side it could represent the four directions (ask Nina and William what they think of my quick thinking). Also, that's not my real hair, ask Nina if she uses any special hair care products to get her hair that long.
I gave a CD of the first two chapters and the web site to my teacher and some of my friends to listen to. By the way, I've listened to those chapters repeatedly and when I listened to the chapters straight off of the Internet from another computer and I heard slightly different timing and accents on words, did you re-record them? Oh yeah one more question for Nina, Kimberly, and Tyrnon, each oh and one for Manny too. For Nina, has it ever occurred to you that Francis might be as idiotic and facetious as he is because of you constantly hitting him on the head as you were growing up? For Kimberly, WHY do you like Francis, WHAT do you see in him!?! For Tyrnon, have you ever thought of finding a spell to become human? If so, why? And last but definitely not least Manny, would it have been possible that, while they were at your house, for you to put a spell, not on Tyrnon, but Nina for her to be able to understand dragon? I'm not trying to cause you a lot of grief or anything but would it be possible for you to send their answeres in the form of a recording because I want to listen to it at night. I came in a little too late for the personalized messages but I'm only asking this if you have some extra free time.
